Gyromagnetic ferrites are becoming more and more important

Gyromagnetic ferrite, also known as microwave ferrite, is a ferrite material with gyromagnetic effect, which refers to the phenomenon that when the plane-polarized electromagnetic wave propagates in a certain direction inside the material under the action of a magnetic field, its polarization plane will continuously rotate around the direction of propagation. Gyromagnetic ferrite has the characteristics of wide spin wave resonance line, small ferromagnetic resonance line width and low dielectric loss. In the low frequency band, the magnetic crystal anisotropy constant and saturation magnetization are low, and it can work in the range of millimeter wave to meter wave.

According to the crystal type, gyromagnetic ferrite can be divided into two categories: polycrystalline gyromagnetic ferrite and monocrystalline gyromagnetic ferrite, of which polycrystalline gyromagnetic ferrite is the main product type. Polycrystalline gyromagnetic ferrite can also be divided into spinel type, garnet type, magnetic lead stone type and other types, the common products are magnesia iron spinel, nickel ferrite, yttrium aluminum garnet, barium ferrite and so on.

The preparation process of gyromagnetic ferrite is similar to that of ceramics, which can be prepared by hot pressing sintering or oxygen atmosphere sintering. In practical applications, gyromagnetic ferrite is mainly used to manufacture millimeter wave devices to transmit microwave signals, and is the key material for the production of passive devices such as circulators and isolators. It is in demand in both military and civilian fields, and is widely used in communication, navigation, radar, satellite remote sensing, industrial equipment, medical equipment and so on.

With the continuous progress of communication technology, the global 5G signal coverage continues to expand, China’s 5G technology level and base station construction speed are in the forefront of the world, and gyromagnetic ferrite is an important raw material for the manufacture of radio frequency devices, and its status is becoming increasingly important. With the continuous progress of satellite remote sensing technology in China, terminal positioning and navigation functions such as smart phones, smart homes and smart cars have gradually become standard. Superimposing the needs of industrial, medical and military fields, the gyromagnetic ferrite market space is constantly expanding, and the future market prospects are broad.
